George Street is to see closures in one direction, west from St Andrew Square to Frederick Street and east from Charlotte Square to Frederick Street. The western section is now in place with roadspace given over to 'cafe style' decking and a super new cycle lane.

  • The cycle lane is working well. It's wide enough to cope with the new BMW 5 series cyclewagen with added mechanical propulsion to avoid pedalling. The complete t*ss*r who was driving seemed to think it was funny. The pickup will claim he was following.... The unedited version is going to the Council. There need to be physical measures (bollards, chicane barriers) to prevent this abuse. I saw another two vehicles when I was looking out the window this morning whilst on the phone (multitasking....)
