tctours2017 episode 10 - The Paisley to Gourock Railway Path
The route is part of NCN75 from Paisley Canal to Gourock, with the finish point at McInroy's Point. NCN75 is via Western Ferries, and I had planned a wee float across, cycle back to central Dunoon via the West Coast Motors depot, perhaps a light refreshment and then back with Argyll Ferries and home. Ah, but no. Puncture at 14 miles fixed after wrestling with the tyre for 10 minutes. Made it another three miles. The shard of glass which had caused the problem and I thought was out of the tyre clearly wasn't. I had just reached the end of the railway element of the route, and then pushed the short distance to Cartsdyke station where a helpful 314215 took me to Gourock and what I thought was a cycle shop. Closed. Bah. Train back to Paisley then after another epic fail on the independent cycle shop front, Halfords put me back on two wheels. I'd had enough and just headed back home at this point...
