tctours2013 episode 11 - The 'Long' shot....
Why the 'Long' shot I hear you ask? Mainly because PS Waverley was had traversing Loch Long to and from Dunoon. As Fay and I partook of PS Waverley last 14th July (wedding anniversary) it seemed only right since she was away in London that I went for another spin. It was one of those days - I had thought of Oban to do both the Lismores and the Kerrera, but as the weather forecast wasn't great I decided to give that a miss. Started what I hoped was a 30 minute DIY job which turned into a 75 minute one, meaning any possibility of the train to Gourock for the 1320 Argyll Ferries move was in the bin. Fired up the Quattro and off I set. As AIS had been showing Argyll Flyer on the run (and it's Ali Cat I need) I forsook the cheap option and took the car across. Bolwed again - Sound of Scalpay was tied up, and whilst I needed both Shuna and Scarba they aren't being replaced soon! Insult to injury - Ali Cat came off her moorings at Battery Park and picked up the 1320! A few reflective pics of the now disused CalMac loading ramp at Dunoon - what a sad state it's in.
