tctours2012 episode 8 - Arran and Kintyre
Week two of the holidays saw a second ferry based excursion to the west coast. All did not go to plan as herself felt there was unnecessary ferry usage and wanted to use the A83 instead to return from Tarbert. Thankfully she did permit a return spin on isle of Cumbrae from Tarbert to Portavadie in exchange for the road option, and as I am still technically after all the Western ferries kit (since I don't recall which one I have had so far) missing one isn't a disaaaaaster.... Two nights at Auchrannie (no holdups this time) and then the Anchor Inn at Tarbert were very pleasant indeed. Arran Distillery is to be commended for two reasons - superb 14YO and allowing snaps. The Gigha excursion turned into a Loch Ranza bashing move as a result of poor weather, but did allow a visit to Campbeltown, although not to Springbank distillery.
