  1. Egomania.....

Ouch!

23rd November 2011 is a date I may not forget in a hurry. I slipped and fell at Polmont Station, causing a dislocated multiple fracture in my left ankle.
Both tibia and fibula were broken, and a significant amount of metalwork has been installed by Forth Valley Royal Hospital. My grateful thanks to all involved with my recuperation process.
I am advised that as long as there is no personal data displayed on the x-ray pics there is no issue with reproduction.

  • On admission, this sight greeted me. Having asked Fay to move out of the way of the screen so I could see this, I wished I hadn't! The tibia is dislocated to the left and the lower section is "loose" and has disappeared from the after picture with the plate and pins.

  • The angled fracture in the slimmer fibula can be clearly seen left to right in a downwards direction, just above the foot.

  • The plate is to the left side of my ankle - my foot is towards the lens. The break can be seen below the third screw.

  • December 2011 broken ankle - the nosebag is designed to allow me to carry small items about the house myself. I'm unsure about the "Come here - Go Anywhere" sentiment, but I dare say I will be able to operate on both engines again at some point. Thanks to Jayne for taking the snap.
